About the Role
We are hiring our first AI Engineer, focused on solving high-priority AI engineering initiatives across the organization. AI is a company-wide priority, and this role is central to how we put that priority into practice. We are seeking a candidate with genuine software engineering depth who has also delivered applied AI/LLM work in production—not someone who configures existing tools, but someone capable of discussing the technical architecture behind what they have built in detail.
What You'll Do
- Take on high-priority AI engineering initiatives across the organization as needs arise
- Architect and deliver production-quality software, with sound judgment on design decisions and technical trade-offs
- Build applied AI/LLM systems—including agents, automations, and model integrations—end to end, with the ability to articulate the technical approach behind each
- Partner directly with cross-functional stakeholders to scope initiatives efficiently and deliver durable systems
- Document your work so that teams can maintain and extend it independently
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and techniques against a rigorous engineering standard, prioritizing maintainability over novelty
What We Need
- A genuine software engineering background, with strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or a comparable language
- A minimum of one year of hands-on, applied AI/LLM development experience, with the ability to speak in depth to the technical approach behind a shipped project
- Based in or willing to work on-site in New York City
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across a range of functions and stakeholders
Strong Plus
- Experience at a B2B SaaS company
- Experience in Marketing, Sales, GTM, or RevOps
- Familiarity with HubSpot or Salesforce
- Experience at a startup or scale-up building infrastructure while executing against near-term priorities
- Exposure to the ecommerce, retail, or supply chain industries
