AI Engineer – Rapid Innovation Team

Build Innovative AI Solutions for Mission-Critical Customers

TechTrend is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to join our Rapid Innovation Team. You'll help design, prototype, and deliver innovative Generative AI and machine learning solutions for enterprise and U.S. Government customers.

You'll work with experienced software, cloud, and AI engineers to turn ideas into practical solutions—including AI assistants, intelligent automation, RAG applications, and other emerging AI capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Build AI and Generative AI applications using Python, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and APIs.
• Develop prototypes and help move successful solutions toward production.
• Work with Google Cloud, Vertex AI, Gemini, and other cloud-based AI services.
• Build AI-powered assistants, copilots, and workflow automation.
• Deploy applications using modern development practices, including Docker, Git, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and customer stakeholders to solve real-world problems.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and help identify practical applications for our customers.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering or related technical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on AI/ML or Generative AI experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building applications using LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, or related technologies.
• Experience developing APIs and integrating AI capabilities into applications.
• Experience with a cloud platform; GCP/Vertex AI is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

• Vertex AI or Gemini experience
• LangChain or LangGraph
• Vector databases
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Azure OpenAI or Azure AI
• AI agents or copilots
• Federal government experience or an existing clearance

Important Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to federal customer requirements.
• This position is based in Reston, VA and requires three days per week in the office.
• Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain/maintain any required clearance or public trust.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who is curious, hands-on, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing AI environment.

You don't need to be an expert in every AI framework or cloud service. We value candidates who have strong software engineering fundamentals, have built real AI/ML or GenAI applications, and can quickly learn new technologies and apply them to customer problems.
