Software Engineer

About the Role

We’re partnering with a venture-backed AI startup building cutting-edge agentic AI technology in the GovTech / AI / Fraud, Waste & Abuse Detection space.

This is an opportunity to join an early engineering team building production-grade AI systems that solve complex, real-world problems. You’ll work closely with customers, own technical solutions end-to-end, and help shape both the product and engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI applications using Python.
• Develop LLM-powered applications, including RAG, AI agents, and multi-agent systems.
• Work directly with customers to understand technical challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the founding team on product, architecture, and technical direction.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience shipping production software.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or multi-agent systems.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-facing mindset.
• Comfortable working in person in Washington, DC.

Nice to Have

• Startup or founding engineer experience.
• Experience working with enterprise or government customers.
• Active U.S. security clearance.
