Our client is a growing organization in the energy industry seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and expand its enterprise security program. The position offers a broad security focus with an emphasis on Identity & Access Management, incident response, cloud security, and Microsoft security technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
POSITION TITLE: Cybersecurity Engineer
LOCATION: Midland, TX (Hybrid; monthly travel required)
SALARY: 125k - 145k
This is a contract to permanent role. Onsite is required once you are a permanent employee and relocation assistance is provided if needed. While on contract you can work remotely but must be able to travel onsite once a month. Travel will be paid for.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and enhance Identity & Access Management solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, SSO, and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Lead cybersecurity incident response activities including threat detection, investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
- Administer and optimize SIEM, EDR, and XDR security platforms, including SentinelOne and Microsoft Defender technologies.
- Implement endpoint, identity, and cloud security hardening initiatives while supporting Microsoft E5 security enablement projects.
- Support vulnerability management, threat analysis, security architecture, and security policy development across corporate IT environments.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or a related security role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access policies, MFA, RBAC, and Privileged Access Management.
- Experience with incident response, threat hunting, security monitoring, and SIEM platforms.
- Knowledge of endpoint protection and detection technologies, including SentinelOne and Microsoft Defender Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, data protection, governance, or compliance-related security initiatives.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and securing Azure-based environments.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, risk assessment, and security frameworks such as NIST.
- Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) security environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across technical teams.
