Operating for nearly a century, our client designs and manufactures essential technologies that power automotive systems, industrial automation, data centers, and modern electronics worldwide. With over 30,000 global employees and tens of thousands of products, they are heavily investing in expanding their next-generation digital and cloud footprint.
They are looking for a Public Cloud Architect to lead the architecture, design, and governance of their enterprise hybrid/multi-cloud platform.
About the Role & Vision
In this position, you will drive the architecture and evolution of an enterprise public cloud platform centered on an AWS-first model, while supporting expansion into Azure and GCP as workloads require. You will be responsible for landing zone design, multi-account strategies, security baselines, and empowering application engineering teams across global business units to innovate quickly and securely.
Key Responsibilities
- Landing Zone Architecture: Design and maintain multi-account AWS Organizations structures using Control Tower and Account Factory for Terraform (AFT).
- Cloud Governance & Security: Architect Service Control Policies (SCPs), IAM Identity Center, GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config rules, and WAF baselines.
- Enterprise Networking: Oversee cloud networking strategy using Transit Gateway, Direct Connect Gateway, VPC segmentation, private endpoints, and DNS resolution.
- Infrastructure as Code: Maintain standardized Terraform modules and CloudFormation templates for repeatable, automated infrastructure delivery.
- FinOps & Cost Strategy: Drive cost optimization across business units through tagging strategies, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and usage analysis.
- Multi-Cloud Extension: Extend foundational governance, naming/tagging standards, and audit readiness into Azure and GCP environments.
- Developer Enablement: Provide cloud quickstarts, service catalogs, quota management, and Well-Architected reviews for application teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent) and 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or infrastructure.
- AWS Core: Deep expertise in AWS multi-account architecture, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and account vending (AFT).
- Automation: Strong hands-on experience using Terraform at scale for automated infrastructure delivery.
- Networking & Security: Practical experience with Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC design, and native security controls (SCPs, Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM).
- Modern Workflows: Familiarity with Kubernetes on managed cloud services (EKS/AKS/GKE) and CI/CD/GitOps workflows.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Active AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional preferred), AZ-305, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (CIS benchmarks, NIST 800-53, AWS Well-Architected Framework).
- FinOps experience with chargeback models, spot usage, and Savings Plan strategies.
- Experience supporting specialized compute workloads (GPU/HPC instances).
- Exposure to Azure Landing Zones or GCP Organization policies.
