Senior Data Developer - Canada

We are seeking a Senior Data Developer - Data Applications & Engineering to help build the next generation of enterprise data products and AI-enabled applications. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, application development, analytics, AI, and user experience.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical problem solver and builder who can translate business needs into intuitive, production-ready data applications while continuing to deepen their expertise in modern data engineering. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, demonstrated ability to build and ship solutions, and the capacity to grow into broader data engineering ownership.

You will initially have a strong focus on hardening, optimizing, and improving the user experience of Snowflake and data applications, while progressively taking greater ownership of data models, transformations, pipelines, and platform engineering.

In this role you will...

• Build, harden, and enhance enterprise data applications using technologies such as Snowflake, Streamlit, Python, SQL, and modern web frameworks.
• Improve the frontend experience, usability, performance, accessibility, and production readiness of internal data and AI applications.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive, scalable data products.
• Partner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Technical Leads, and business stakeholders from discovery through production.
• Develop and maintain SQL transformations, reusable data models, and curated datasets.
• Build and enhance ELT/ETL workflows and data pipelines as your ownership of the data engineering stack grows.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate application development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and engineering workflows.
• Integrate APIs, enterprise data sources, AI services, and Snowflake capabilities into production applications.
• Implement application and data controls including authentication, authorization, role-based access, data quality, and security.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, and engineering standards.
• Monitor and optimize application, query, and pipeline performance.
• Prototype new AI and data capabilities and help transition successful experiments into supported production solutions.
• Continuously expand your capabilities across Snowflake, dbt, orchestration, data modeling, observability, and enterprise data engineering.

• 5+ years of strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and structured data.
• Hands-on experience building software, data applications, analytics applications, or data products.
• Experience with Python or another modern programming language.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Experience with modern application development, APIs, or frontend technologies.
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and modern data architecture.
• Experience taking technical solutions from requirements or prototype through production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work across application and data engineering boundaries.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to independently learn unfamiliar technologies and apply them to production problems.
• Experience working in Agile engineering environments.

• React, TypeScript, Streamlit, or other frontend/application development experience.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications or working with AI-assisted development tools.
• Snowflake development experience, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Matillion, or similar modern data stack experience.
• Experience with Docker, APIs, OAuth, IAM/RBAC, or application security.
• Experience building internal enterprise applications.
• Experience with Finance, HR, Services, Customer Success, or other enterprise business domains.
• Experience taking prototypes or proofs of concept into production.
• Product management or business analysis experience that helps bridge business problems and engineering solutions.
