Key Responsibilities
1. Automation System Design & Implementation
- Design and develop automation solutions using PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems
- Prepare control philosophies, functional design specifications (FDS), and detailed engineering documents
- Configure and program PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.)
- Develop HMI/SCADA screens for process visualization and control
- Execute automation projects from concept to commissioning
- Vendor coordination and review of engineering deliverables
- Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality, and safety standards
- Provide support for existing automation systems
- Diagnose and resolve PLC/DCS/SCADA-related issues
- Perform periodic system health checks and preventive maintenance
- Implement system upgrades and modifications
- Analyze process performance and implement automation improvements
- Reduce downtime and increase plant efficiency through control strategies
- Integrate advanced control techniques where applicable
- Maintain technical documentation (loop diagrams, P&IDs, IO lists)
- Ensure compliance with industrial standards and safety regulations
- Support audits and regulatory inspections
- Implement safety interlocks and fail-safe mechanisms
- Ensure secure industrial network architecture
- Follow cybersecurity best practices for OT systems
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in PLC/DCS/SCADA systems
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC)
- Hands-on programming experience (Ladder Logic, Function Block, SFC)
- Understanding of instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, control valves)
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and panel design
- Familiarity with MES/IIoT systems is an advantage
