You will play a pivotal role in designing and building the security foundations that protect the firm's technology, data, and operations. This is a greenfield opportunity, offering significant ownership across security architecture, detection and response, identity and access management, cloud security, and infrastructure protection. The candidate will partner closely with engineering and operations teams, influence key architectural decisions, and help establish a scalable security framework capable of supporting the firm's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
- Own and enhance security detection and response capabilities, including monitoring, alerting, honeypots, and defensive tooling.
- Support the development of authentication, authorisation, and internal certificate management architectures.
- Define and implement security standards, policies, and best practices aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Operations teams to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate emerging threats and security technologies, making architectural decisions that support the firm's future growth.
- Contribute to incident response processes and broader security engineering initiatives.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience within Security Engineering, Information Security, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, or SIEM technologies.
- Previous experience in software engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or operating systems development.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver scalable security solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Desirable Skills
- Experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of cloud-native security tooling and modern infrastructure security practices.
- Exposure to financial services or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with identity, authentication, and access management concepts.
