The IT Security Engineer II strengthens and advances enterprise cybersecurity capabilities across cloud, endpoint, identity, and data protection platforms. This role leads security engineering initiatives, drives incident response efforts, improves governance and compliance programs, and supports enterprise-wide risk reduction strategies. The position partners with technical and business stakeholders to implement scalable security controls that protect clinical and business operations.
Key Responsibilities• Security incident investigations, response coordination, and recovery leadership
• Architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise cybersecurity technologies
• Administration and operational ownership of 2-3 security platforms
• Security metrics collection and reporting using automated and manual methods
• Security policy, standards, and operating procedure development
• Risk assessments and security reviews for new and existing technologies
• Security control implementation and audit readiness support
• HIPAA and PCI compliance program participation
• Security awareness content and training support
• Operational process documentation and team cross-training
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and certifications
• Minimum 3 years of cybersecurity experience in analyst or engineer roles
• Experience administering and supporting at least one enterprise security platform
• Experience leading cybersecurity projects or initiatives
• Anti-malware technologies
• Azure cloud security services
• Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) solutions
• Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies
• Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR/XDR) platforms
• Identity security and access management solutions
• Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
• Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) technologies
• Vulnerability management solutions
• Advanced professional cybersecurity certification preferred (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP, or equivalent)
• Experience with HIPAA Security Rule, HIPAA Privacy Rule, PCI DSS, and NIST frameworks
• Experience implementing security controls across desktop, server, network, database, cloud, and application environments
• Knowledge of threat detection, exposure management, identity protection, and remediation workflows
• Experience with configuration management and hardware/software asset inventory programs
• Leadership experience in cross-functional technical initiatives
• Project management experience in enterprise environments
• Local travel to corporate locations as needed
• On-call participation for security incidents and operational support
• Ability to work independently across multiple security initiatives with minimal oversight
