As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will focus on building security solutions that improve the organization's overall cyber resilience. Rather than concentrating primarily on governance, application security, IAM, or threat detection, this role centers on ensuring that cloud environments remain secure, recoverable, observable, and operational during both routine events and major disruptions.
You will work closely with cloud infrastructure engineers, site reliability engineers, platform teams, and security professionals to build automated controls, improve operational readiness, and reduce security-related downtime. The ideal candidate combines strong security knowledge with an engineering mindset and enjoys solving complex challenges involving automation, cloud operations, system resilience, and security tooling. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to influence how cloud security is implemented across a growing technology environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
- Experience building security automation solutions
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and platform operations
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Strong scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability platforms
- Familiarity with vulnerability remediation and cloud configuration management
- Understanding of cloud networking and distributed systems
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management experience
- 8+ years of cloud security, platform engineering, or infrastructure security experience
- Experience supporting highly available production environments
- Financial services or asset management experience
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
- Experience with security orchestration and automated response workflows
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms
- AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CCSP, or related certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field

- Develop automated security controls that improve the resiliency of cloud environments
- Engineer solutions that reduce operational risk and improve system recoverability
- Build automated remediation workflows for common security and infrastructure issues
- Partner with platform teams to strengthen cloud reliability and fault tolerance
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities across critical systems
- Conduct cloud resilience assessments and identify areas for improvement
- Support incident response activities and post-incident remediation efforts
- Automate security validation and compliance checking across cloud resources
- Help design secure backup, recovery, and continuity solutions for cloud workloads
- Create tools and processes that improve operational efficiency across security and infrastructure teams
