Our client is a rapidly growing, people-focused Managed Services Provider (MSP) with a strong reputation for delivering innovative IT and cybersecurity solutions. With continued growth in their cybersecurity practice, they are now looking to appoint a Security Operations Manager to lead and develop an established security team while helping mature and expand their security service offerings.

The Role

The Security Operations Manager will provide both technical and people leadership, overseeing day-to-day security operations, client-facing security initiatives, incident response activities, and team development.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on cybersecurity expertise with

leadership responsibilities and client engagement. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring security services are delivered effectively and consistently across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of Security Analysts
• Manage workload prioritization, performance, accountability, and professional development
• Oversee security monitoring, investigations, escalations, and incident response activities
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex security incidents and high-risk scenarios
• Conduct recurring security assessments and identify opportunities to strengthen client security postures
• Provide strategic cybersecurity guidance to clients on risk reduction and security best practices
• Support compliance initiatives, audits, and security framework requirements
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify security improvement opportunities and strategic recommendations
• Own and optimize cybersecurity platforms, tools, and processes
• Drive continuous improvement across security operations, reporting, documentation, and service delivery
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and expansion of the organization's cybersecurity offerings

Required Experience

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience within an MSP, MSSP, healthcare, regulated industry, or similar environment
• 2+ years of leadership, team lead, or management experience
• Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, identity management, and endpoint security
• Experience conducting security assessments, risk reviews, and compliance-related initiatives
• Knowledge of common regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Process-driven mindset with strong documentation and organizational skills

Desirable Experience

• Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, SC-200, SC-300, or equivalent
• Experience leading cybersecurity services within an MSP or MSSP environment
• Strong background working across the Microsoft security ecosystem, including technologies such as Defender, Entra ID, Sentinel, XDR, and related platforms
• Experience with vulnerability management, email security, and advanced security monitoring solutions
