We are seeking an experienced IT Systems & Cloud Engineer to join the global IT organization of an established, technology-driven company. This position will play a key role in supporting and evolving a hybrid IT environment spanning Microsoft Azure, on-premise infrastructure, networking, security, Microsoft 365, and end-user technologies.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience across both traditional infrastructure and modern cloud platforms and enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving reliability and security, and identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, migrate, administer, and optimize Microsoft Azure environments, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and cloud-connected networking.
• Support and enhance a hybrid environment incorporating Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, VMware, storage, and networking technologies.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, data management, backup, protection, and recovery solutions.
• Monitor cloud and infrastructure environments for availability, security, capacity, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, cloud, network, and systems issues, including escalated incidents.
• Configure and administer Microsoft Intune for device management, application deployment, configuration, and security policies.
• Support identity and access technologies including Entra ID, Conditional Access, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Support the Microsoft workplace environment, including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Viva, and Defender XDR.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless technologies, and related security solutions.
• Apply networking expertise across TCP/IP, routing, switching, network security, and the OSI model.
• Support technologies such as Cisco Secure Endpoint, Microsoft Defender, Zscaler, and Citrix.
• Develop automation and integration solutions using technologies such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve IT service quality, efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Support information security, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Assist with periodic testing and continuous improvement of disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Work within established ITSM/ITIL practices, including configuration management, hardware inventory, licensing, software distribution, and lifecycle management.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support to IT team members.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, security, performance, and efficiency.
• Participate in occasional after-hours or weekend support when business needs require it.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or a related IT role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Strong experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Hands-on experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, routing, switching, security, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Experience administering VMware and enterprise storage technologies.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and related network technologies.
• Strong understanding of IT security principles, zero-trust concepts, identity management, and data protection.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting and automation technologies.
• Ability to integrate and automate workflows across cloud and enterprise platforms.
• Experience operating within an ITSM/ITIL-based environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to independently own complex technical issues while collaborating effectively with a broader IT team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Zscaler and zero-trust security solutions
• Cisco networking and security technologies
• Citrix environments
• Linux administration
• Manufacturing or engineering environments
• Engineering/design applications such as Autodesk products
• Enterprise AV and collaboration technologies
• Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Global or multi-site IT environments

Relevant Microsoft certifications are also highly valued, including:

• AZ-104 – Azure Administrator
• AZ-305 – Azure Solutions Architect
• SC-300 – Identity and Access Administrator
• Microsoft 365 certifications
• ITIL certification or equivalent practical experience

Work Environment

This position supports a combination of office, technical/lab, and manufacturing environments.

The role follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite.

Candidates should be comfortable working at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lifting equipment weighing up to approximately 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $97,000 – $143,000

Actual compensation will be based on factors including relevant experience, technical expertise, education, internal equity, and market considerations.
