We are seeking an experienced Identity Security Engineer to join a Cyber Engineering & Architecture team on a 12-month day-rate contract.
This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for strengthening the organisation's identity security posture through the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities.
Working closely with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Technology teams, you will help design, implement, and support secure identity services, automate identity lifecycle processes, and ensure identity platforms are operating securely, efficiently, and in line with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and governance of identity security policies, standards, and architectural patterns across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Identity Governance platforms.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions and associated governance processes.
- Engineer improvements to IAM and PAM controls through automation, standardisation, and scalable self-service capabilities.
- Monitor and continuously improve the organisation's identity security posture.
- Provide technical expertise during identity-related security incidents, supporting investigation, containment, and remediation activities.
- Develop dashboards, reporting, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of identity controls and governance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and platform teams to embed secure-by-design identity principles including authentication, authorisation, role-based access control (RBAC),
Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years' IT or Cyber Security experience, including at least 5 years specialising in Identity and Access Management or Identity Security Engineering.
- Hands-on experience administering and securing Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID within enterprise environments.
- Strong experience implementing and managing Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms such as SailPoint.
- Experience designing and implementing Privileged Access Management (PAM) controls and governance processes.
- Proven experience working with business and technical stakeholders to implement access governance and least privilege principles.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Identity & Security, CISSP, CISM, CIAM, CRISC, or equivalent.
