Team & Role Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Information Security team in Dublin. This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise-scale cyber security within a leading global organisation.
SMBC Aviation Capital operates in a cloud-first technology landscape - leveraging IaaS / PaaS platforms, SaaS solutions, Microsoft technologies, and targeted custom development – and this role will play a key part in protecting the organisation’s information assets and supporting the secure delivery of business change.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Information Security team, wider IT teams, and third-party vendors to support all aspects of cyber, including monitoring of cyber posture, risk assessment activities, operational security, and awareness initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the SVP Information Security in monitoring and protecting SMBC Aviation Capital’s information assets in line with established information security policies, standards, and practices
- Conduct risk assessments for new systems, applications, and technology initiatives
- Partner with internal IT teams and external service providers to define security requirements, track delivery of security controls, and support go live readiness.
- Assist with the development and delivery of information security awareness and training activities across the business
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security standards, processes, and controls.
- Support security monitoring and alert handling, including review of events, validation of findings, and escalation in accordance with documented runbooks.
- Assist with incident response activities (triage, investigation support, containment and eradication coordination, as well as post incident lessons learned) in collaboration with internal teams and service providers.
- Support assurance activities, including third party and project security reviews, and maintain evidence required for audit and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
- Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, Azure/MS certs) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in information security, cyber security, IT risk, or a related technical role, or a relevant third-level qualification in Cyber Security.
- Awareness of cloud security concepts, including secure configuration, cloud posture management principles, and shared responsibility models.
- Practical familiarity with Microsoft security technologies, such as Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender (for Endpoint/Identity/Office 365), Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and Intune.
- Understanding of secure solution design and threat modelling, applying risk management principles across the delivery lifecycle.
- Identity and access management concepts, including MFA, conditional access, privileged access management, and role‑based access control.
- Knowledge of networking and infrastructure fundamentals
- Knowledge of security governance and compliance concepts, including common frameworks/standards (ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2) and data protection requirements (GDPR).
- Vulnerability management, remediation coordination and risk-based prioritisation.
- Security logging and monitoring concepts, including analysing alerts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated aptitude for rapid learning, self-direction, and performing well in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to analyse complex situations, balance risks, draw logical conclusions, and recommend effective security actions.
- Ability to work effectively within a small specialist team while collaborating across the wider business
