We are seeking a Data Product Analyst to support a regulatory modernization initiative focused on transforming environmental and natural resource management through digital innovation. This role is critical to ensuring that modernized data assets deliver tangible business value across the organization. The successful candidate will design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines that ingest and integrate data into modern platforms, apply standardized transformations, enforce data quality and governance controls, and produce trusted, analytics-ready datasets that support regulatory oversight, compliance monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making.
The Data Product Analyst will provide operational support and continuous improvement services for data products and platform solutions. Key responsibilities include collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data product objectives, designing and implementing scalable data architecture on Microsoft Azure, leading the development of data ingestion and transformation pipelines, managing data lakes and structured storage solutions, integrating data from diverse source systems, developing robust data models and semantic layers, building and optimizing data workflows, designing secure data services and APIs, implementing data governance practices, monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, and leveraging AI and automation tools to streamline workflows. The role will also focus on designing and curating standardized, high-quality datasets suitable for advanced analytics and future AI use cases.
Qualifications
- 3 years - Experience designing data solutions for analytics-ready, trusted datasets using tools like Power BI and Synapse, including semantic layers, data marts, and data products for self-service, data science, and reporting
- 4 years - Experience in Github/Git for version control, collaborative development, code management, and integration with data engineering workflows
- 3 years - Experience with Azure services (Storage, SQL, Synapse, networking) for scalable, secure solutions, and with authentication (Service Principals, Managed Identities) for secure access in pipelines and integrations
- 5 years - Experience in Python (including PySpark) and SQL, applied to developing, orchestrating, and optimizing enterprise-grade ETL/ELT workflows in a large-scale cloud environment
- 3 years - Experience building scalable data pipelines with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Workflows, Jobs, and Notebooks, plus cluster management
- 1 year - Experience using AI for code generation, data analysis, automation, and enhancing productivity in data engineering workflows
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study
Nice to Have
- 6 years - Direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis related to data manipulation, transformation, cleansing, and wrangling
- 6 years - Experience and strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, optimization, and administration in enterprise environments
- 2 years - Experience extending or integrating data solutions with Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Semantic Models)
- 1 year - Direct experience building data products in a government owned cloud environment
- 3 years - Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, including building secure, scalable APIs for data exchange with robust authentication, error handling, and support for real-time automation
- 3 years - Experience in message queueing technologies, implementing message queuing using tools like ActiveMQ and Service Bus for scalable, asynchronous communication across distributed systems
- 5 years - Experience working with cross-functional teams to create software applications and data products
