We are supporting a prestigious Swiss organisation in the search for a Senior Azure Security Engineer to join its advanced Cloud Platform function.
This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to shape cloud security from within the engineering environment - not simply review it from the outside. You will work closely with cloud, platform and cybersecurity specialists to embed security into architecture, automation, delivery and operational processes.
🚀 Your Responsibilities
· Engineer and implement security requirements across a complex Microsoft Azure environment
· Identify, evaluate and help remediate cybersecurity risks affecting the cloud platform
· Design preventive security controls based on recognised industry practices
· Support cloud projects by establishing protection requirements and designing practical security solutions
· Embed security earlier within cloud engineering and delivery processes
· Develop and continuously improve cloud security concepts, standards and technical guidelines
· Review cloud architectures, configurations and services from a security perspective
· Contribute to infrastructure automation and secure Infrastructure as Code
· Support the secure use of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS services
· Document solutions and transfer knowledge across technical teams
· Act as a trusted security partner to cloud engineers, architects and operational stakeholders
🧩 Your Background
· Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
· Several years of professional experience in cybersecurity, ideally with a strong cloud-security focus
· Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its native security capabilities
· Understanding of security across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS environments
· Experience identifying technical risks and implementing effective security controls
· Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO/IEC 27001
· Strong understanding of secure architecture, identity, access control and cloud governance
· Fluent English communication skills and a good command of German (to at least B1 level)
⭐ Particularly Valuable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly attractive:
· Microsft Defender for Cloud or Microsoft Defender XDR
· Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access and Zero Trust
· Identity and Access Management
· Privileged Identity or Access Management
· Azure Kubernetes Service
· Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
· Git, GitHub and GitHub Actions
· CI/CD security and DevSecOps
· Security auditing, penetration testing or offensive security
· Threat modelling and secure architecture reviews
· Critical infrastructure or another highly regulated enterprise environment
🤝 Your Personality
Technical capability is important, but personality and teamwork matter just as much.
We are looking for someone who is:
· Collaborative, approachable and genuinely team-oriented
· Proactive and hands-on, while remaining humble
· Comfortable working across different technical disciplines
· Able to communicate security risks in clear and practical language
· Capable of influencing teams without becoming an unnecessary blocker
· Analytical and comfortable navigating complex technical dependencies
· Motivated to learn and contribute within an agile environment
This role will suit someone who sees cybersecurity as an engineering partnership - not simply an audit or compliance function.
💡 Why Consider This Opportunity?
· Join a highly respected Swiss organisation operating an exceptionally important national environment
· Take on a newly created role with the opportunity to make a visible impact
· Help shape the continued development of a mature Azure cloud-security platform
· Work with modern technology in a complex, resilient and highly available IT environment
