Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PKI Support Specialist to join our IT Security team. This role will focus on supporting Public Key Infrastructure operations, including certificate lifecycle management, troubleshooting PKI-related issues, and assisting in the administration of security technologies. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of PKI, cybersecurity concepts, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for PKI services including digital certificates issuance, renewal, and revocation.
- Assist in managing internal and external Certificate Authorities (CAs).
- Support the onboarding of new applications and devices that require certificates.
- Troubleshoot PKI-related issues including SSL/TLS certificate errors, expired certificates, and trust chain validation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of PKI processes, policies, and infrastructure.
- Assist in monitoring certificate expirations and proactively managing renewals.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure implementation of PKI.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Participate in security audits and provide support for audit-related activities.
- Stay up to date on PKI best practices, tools, and security trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of PKI concepts (certificates, CAs, CRLs, OCSP).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic networking principles.
- Knowledge of security protocols such as SSL/TLS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).
- Familiarity with tools like OpenSSL, Venafi, Keyfactor, or DigiCert.
- Understanding of encryption, authentication, and identity management.
- CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or other relevant certifications.
