Position Summary
In this position, you will lead strategic cybersecurity advisory engagements, develop security strategies and governance frameworks, support executive stakeholders through vCISO services, and guide organizations in strengthening their cybersecurity programs, compliance readiness, and security architecture
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-quarter cybersecurity advisory engagements for strategic clients
- Develop cybersecurity strategies, governance frameworks, and multi-year security roadmaps
- Conduct readiness assessments and gap analyses against major cybersecurity and compliance frameworks
- Translate regulatory requirements into actionable remediation plans
- Serve as a virtual CISO for organizations lacking dedicated security leadership Support board-level and executive risk management discussions
- Design target-state security architectures across identity, network, endpoint, cloud, and data environments
- Provide post-incident advisory services, including root cause analysis facilitation and program improvement recommendations
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful engagement delivery
- Contribute to advisory methodologies, service development, and thought leadership initiatives
- Mentor junior consultants and technical professionals
- Coordinate with international teams to leverage global cybersecurity resources and expertise
- Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, information risk management, or related advisory functions
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior consulting, advisory, or vCISO role
- Proven experience working with executive stakeholders, including CIOs, CISOs, Boards, and Audit Committees
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, CRI Profile, NYDFS Part 500, HIPAA Security Rule, CMMC, and CIS Controls
- Technical understanding of IAM, SSO, MFA, SASE, ZTNA, firewalls, EDR, MDM, AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, DLP, DSPM, and SSPM
- Business-level Japanese language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or equivalent
EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-Time (onsite)
SALARY USD $90,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
