Lead Security Engineer

Lead Cybersecurity Engineer | Midland, TX

I’m recruiting for a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer opportunity with a growing enterprise organization in Midland, TX.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role for someone who can remain hands-on while setting the direction for enterprise security engineering, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and security operations.

This is a full time role and not open to contract or C2C.

What you’ll do:

• Serve as the technical authority across security engineering, IAM, vulnerability management, and security operations
• Own the security engineering roadmap, standards, and reference architectures
• Lead, mentor, and develop security engineers and analysts
• Design and implement security solutions across network, endpoint, cloud, and application environments
• Work with technologies including Firewalls, WAF, EDR/XDR, SIEM, DLP, IAM, PAM, and cloud security
• Own identity architecture including SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC/least privilege, and PAM
• Lead vulnerability management, risk prioritization, remediation, and penetration-testing efforts
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex security investigations and major incident response
• Guide detection engineering, threat hunting, and the use of threat intelligence
• Communicate security risk, roadmap, and incident posture to both technical teams and executive leadership

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 8+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, including technical leadership
• Strong experience across multiple cybersecurity domains, particularly security engineering, IAM, vulnerability management, and security operations
• Experience setting technical direction and owning security architecture or programs
• Strong knowledge of threat analysis, mitigation, and incident response
• Experience with NIST CSF or similar security frameworks
• Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred:

• Experience with OT/ICS/SCADA environments
• CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Microsoft SC-series, or comparable certifications
