MIDAS is a strategic joint venture between MTN Group Fintech and Alipay, established to accelerate the modernisation of MTN Fintech’s digital financial services platform and strengthen the delivery of scalable, secure and customer-centric fintech capabilities across MTN markets.
MIDAS plays a critical role in enabling the next phase of MTN Fintech’s platform transformation by supporting the deployment, stabilisation and ongoing operation of the new digital wallet ecosystem. The joint venture brings together MTN Fintech’s deep market reach across Africa and Alipay’s global technology, platform and digital payments expertise to deliver a more resilient, innovative and future-fit fintech operating model.

As part of your portfolio as Senior Manager: Infrastructure, Operations & Security Lead, you will be responsible to.:
- Define and execute the Security Operations and DevSecOps strategy in alignment with business growth, enterprise risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and Group Fintech objectives.
- Develop multi-year roadmaps for SOC maturity, detection engineering, incident response, red teaming, secure SDLC, cloud security, on-premise security, and API/application security.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for Security Operations and DevSecOps including MTTD, MTTR, incident closure quality, vulnerability remediation SLAs, coverage metrics, secure release performance, and control effectiveness.
- Present security posture, key risks, incident themes, control gaps, and remediation priorities to executive leadership and governance forums.
- Ensure alignment with relevant security frameworks, internal control requirements, and financial services security expectations.
- Support senior management in defining group-wide cyber defence priorities and drive execution across Group and Opcos.
The incumbent must have the following:
- 4-year Engineering/Science Degree
- Industry certification: CISSP, CISM, SANS or equivalent
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology (specifically within Cyber Security)
- 2-3 years working experience in managing information security in a large organisation
- Technical expertise with security controls such as: SIEM, EDR, Network protection, Application protection, Data protection, Cloud Monitoring and vulnerability management tools; (Pre-req)
- Experience working in Africa and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
- Advanced working understanding of the information technology environment of a financial services company
- Experience in global/ multinational enterprise, coupled with working in emerging markets
- Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation and experience of presenting to senior management
