Google Cloud Solution Architect

We are seeking a Google Cloud Solution Architect to act as a trusted partner and consultant to DevOps teams, helping them design and deliver secure, scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions. This role sits within the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), whose mission is to deliver a scalable, reliable and automated cloud platform that enables efficient and sustainable cloud adoption, maximizes value realization, mitigates risks and supports business growth through innovation in cloud technologies. The position requires 2-4 business trips per year to Veldhoven (Eindhoven) for team buildings, PI plannings and similar events.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise and leadership in cloud onboarding across Azure and Google Cloud, covering both technology and process aspects
• Guide DevOps teams in designing client-compliant, secure and scalable cloud architectures tailored to their needs
• Support DevOps teams as a consulting partner to help them achieve their objectives and remove roadblocks throughout their cloud journey
• Represent the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) as the main point of contact and ambassador for DevOps teams
• Promote cloud cost awareness and educate teams on strategies to manage and optimize cloud spend
• Test and develop new cloud technologies with a hands-on approach to validate solutions or accelerate adoption
• Identify service gaps and collaborate with the CCoE product owner to enhance the overall customer experience
• Contribute to the design and review of cloud architectures for cloud-native and hybrid applications
• Help DevOps teams improve automation capabilities including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Document the solution design and all other relevant information
• Design, develop and support AI solutions to benefit and automate both CCoE internal operations and customer needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master degree in IT, Business Management, Computer Science or Electronics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Solution Architect
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP); familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a strong plus
• Hands-on experience designing, configuring and operating IaaS services on Google Cloud including Compute Engine (VMs), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and VPC networking and Cloud Storage
• Expertise in designing and implementing PaaS solutions using services such as App Engine, Cloud Run and managed databases (Cloud SQL, Firestore, Bigtable) along with data platforms including BigQuery, Cloud Storage (Data Lake) and Dataproc/Databricks
• Experience with CI/CD tooling on GCP including Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy and Git-based platforms such as GitHub
• Understanding of cloud-based data integration patterns and modern data architectures
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex application deployment scenarios along with engineering and coding experience applied in agile development environments
• Proven track record in technical architecture design, solution definition and managing change and risk
• Experience working in large international organizations or with global service providers
• Experience in designing and developing AI solutions such as copilot agents that provide both the CCoE and customers with knowledge and support
• Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to operate independently as a self-starter
• Recognized as a subject matter expert with a collaborative knowledge-sharing mindset and effective communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in creating clear, structured and high-quality documentation

Salary range €6.5K-€8K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
