General Summary

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff/Senior Staff Engineer to lead Android Security Patch support activities across Snapdragon-based products. This role focuses on security maintenance, software reliability, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring timely delivery of security updates across multiple software platforms.

The successful candidate will work with engineering teams around the world to maintain secure and stable software releases while supporting long-term software maintenance and platform quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Drive Android Security Patch integration and maintenance activities.
• Analyze security-related software issues and support resolution efforts.
• Investigate platform vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation activities.
• Support delivery of security updates across multiple product releases.
• Work across RTOS, Linux, and Windows software environments to maintain software quality and security compliance.
• Perform root-cause analysis of software defects and security-related issues.
• Collaborate with software development teams to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support software validation and release readiness activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software maintenance and security processes.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in platform security and software maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform software, or operating systems development.
• Strong understanding of software security principles and secure software development practices.
• Hands-on experience working in Linux-based software environments.
• Experience supporting and maintaining Windows-based software platforms.
• Solid experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience investigating software defects, system failures, and security-related issues.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience supporting software maintenance, software updates, and patch deployment activities.
• Ability to identify security risks and collaborate with development teams to implement corrective actions.
• Experience working in large-scale software development organizations.

Strong communication and technical leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
