Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer with deep expertise in Snyk, DevSecOps, and security platform engineering to drive enterprise-wide migration, integration, and optimization of Snyk and Codewise capabilities. This role will lead the technical strategy, architecture, and implementation of application security tooling while enabling secure software development practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong Python engineering expertise, hands-on experience with security scanning platforms, and a proven track record leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams. This position requires a combination of security engineering, automation, and technical leadership skills to support the organization's Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) objectives.

- Lead the migration, integration, and enterprise adoption of Snyk and Codewise security platforms.
- Design and implement scalable architecture solutions for application security tooling across development and DevSecOps environments.
- Configure, manage, and optimize Snyk capabilities including Snyk Code, Open Source, Container, and related security scanning services.
- Develop Python-based automation frameworks to streamline vulnerability management, remediation workflows, and security operations.
- Architect and build integrations leveraging Snyk and Codewise APIs to enhance platform functionality and operational efficiency.
- Define and implement strategies for integrating security controls, scanning tools, and policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with Application Security, Development, Platform Engineering, and DevOps teams to improve secure software delivery practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best-practice guidance to engineers supporting security tooling initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through platform optimization, automation enhancements, and adoption of modern DevSecOps practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational standards, implementation guides, and architectural artifacts.
- 8+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Application Security, DevSecOps, or related cybersecurity roles.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, integration development, and security tooling.
- Deep hands-on experience with the Snyk platform, including configuration, administration, onboarding, and enterprise-scale deployments.
- Experience with Codewise or similar application security and code analysis platforms.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery environments.
- Hands-on experience building and managing API-based integrations and automation solutions.
- Proven leadership experience driving technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing security engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native development, container security, software supply chain security, and application security concepts.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, architecture, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar development and CI/CD platforms is preferred.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, GWAPT, Security+, or equivalent are a plus.
Salary And Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $[105,500 - 124,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
