We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Principal Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, architects, leadership team, service line heads to deliver sharable engineering artifacts.
- Work with Tech PO and Tech lead to shape the scope and convert it to tangible items
- Collaborate with central teams (architecture, security, engineering, networks) who are responsible for delivering HSBC baseline cloud architecture
- Collaborate with service lines to co-design and set up common standards and practice, to avoid duplicated technical artifacts.
- Ensure DevSecOps capabilities are built in as part of the solution
- Ensure solution aligns with FSA.
- Deliver engineering solution for common capabilities cross sub-valuestream
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree is preferred
- GCP or AWS certified (GCP preferred)
- Solid knowledge and 10+ years hands-on experiences in below techniques / practices:
- Experience of migration to GCP and integration projects on large scale environment
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Dockers, Storage, Cloud Functions
- Experience to perform data analysis, on Databases (SQL, no-SQL, DBT)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Java, springboot & spring cloud, Zuul gateway, workflow(flowable, BPM)
- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiar with Micro-service and API first development
- Security (IAM, AD, ADLDS, roles, service accounts, entitlements)
- Experience on Micro-service E2E Design/Deployment
- Hands on experience on service mesh
- Familiar with service observability
- Hands on experience on caching implementation
- Hands on experience on Redis
- DevSecOps principles & automation (Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub)
- Events & Data Streaming: Data Proc, Pub-Sub, Confluent/Kafka
- Familiar with TCP/IP network design including addressing, routing, switches, firewalls, and routers
- Agile development practices & tools (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence)
- Strong problem-solving skills and capability of working independently and under pressure
- Ability to communicate explain complex ideas in both oral and written English
- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience in Banking and Financial Services with good understanding of the legal and compliance business
- Good communication (verbal & written) skillset to explain complex ideas.
- Ability to work as a tech lead of an agile program (familiarity with agile methodology).
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

- Experience in delivering complex solutions at large organizations of varying size and complexity
