M365 Expert for Defender for Exchange

This is a full-time job suitable for passionate professionals who want to work for a leading European Insurance Group on a very flexible work schedule.
You will work as part of a multinational group with true, large, enterprise-wide systems, complex architectures and real-life constraints (speed, performance, non-stop systems availability) and are going to be part of an agile team aimed at designing and implementing enterprise level solutions.
- Contract duration: Permanent
- Schedule: Full-time (8 hrs/day, Monday to Friday)
Your responsibilities
- Operate and continuously enhance Microsoft Defender for Exchange, including threat management policies, anti-phishing, anti-malware and anti-spam protection, Safe Attachments, and Safe Links
- Analyze, assess, and handle email-based security events and incidents (phishing, malware, business email compromise), in close collaboration with Cyber Defense, SOC, and IT Security teams
- Work closely with Exchange Online, M365 Security, Defender Suite, Entra ID, and Workplace Services teams
- Drive continuous improvements in email security, including policy hardening, Zero-Hour protection, attack surface reduction, and user protection measures.
- Implement, maintain, and document security configurations, including reporting and compliance requirements
- Participate in security audits, simulations (e.g., phishing campaigns), penetration tests, and DORA-related controls
- Contribute to knowledge development, standardization, and advisory activities in the field of email and collaboration security.
Required skills
- Several years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Microsoft Defender for Exchange, Exchange Online, M365 Security, Defender XDR, or Secure Email Gateway solutions
- Strong knowledge of modern email-based attack techniques, including phishing, spear phishing, business email compromise (BEC), malware, and QR code phishing
- Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms, threat hunting, and incident response.
- Hands-on experience with security hardening and policy configuration in Microsoft 365 environments
- PowerShell knowledge, enterprise-level experience, and certifications such as SC-200, SC-300, or MS-102 are considered an advantage
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills with a responsible and detail-oriented approach
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
Desirable skills (nice to have)
- Knowledge of the insurance domain
- German language skills.
