We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Security Specialist to strengthen and govern our Microsoft 365 collaboration environment. In this role, you will be responsible for securing SharePoint Online and OneDrive, improving governance, managing access controls, identifying security risks, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft 365 security technologies, SharePoint administration, identity and access management, and security best practices within large enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform security assessments of SharePoint Online and OneDrive environments to identify vulnerabilities, excessive permissions, oversharing, and compliance risks.
- Review and optimize site, library, folder, and document permissions based on least-privilege access principles.
- Implement and maintain governance standards for site ownership, external sharing, guest access, and lifecycle management.
- Manage SharePoint permissions, Microsoft 365 Groups, security groups, and Microsoft Entra ID access controls.
- Monitor security events, audit logs, sharing activities, and access reports to proactively identify and resolve security issues.
- Investigate SharePoint-related security incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Compliance, and Business teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.
- Develop dashboards, security reports, and documentation while automating routine security reviews using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft 365 administration tools.
- Provide guidance to business users and site owners on secure collaboration and data protection best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Microsoft security certifications such as SC-400, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, or equivalent are preferred.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, and Service Request Management.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and security, including at least 3 years focused on SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- Strong experience with SharePoint permission management, access remediation, governance, and security assessments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust security principles within Microsoft 365.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale environments with complex SharePoint deployments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
