Security Analyst – Akamai WAF

This is a hands-on operational role focused on managing and supporting Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF) in production environments. The position is responsible for protecting web applications and APIs by monitoring and tuning WAF policies, responding to security incidents, troubleshooting edge and connectivity issues, and helping ensure the security, stability, and availability of high-traffic platforms.

Requirements

• Hands-on Akamai WAF experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience with App & API Protector, Kona Site Defender, or similar Akamai WAF products
• Proven experience supporting production Akamai environments
• Strong understanding of: HTTP/S, APIs, and web application behavior WAF rule logic, tuning, and false positive handling
• Experience with Incident response and outage support Ability to troubleshoot edge-to-origin issues and API connectivity

Schedule

• Flexible schedule, typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET.
• On-call rotation: approximately one weekend per month. There may also be occasional 2–3 hour on-call coverage in the evening while the U.S. shift transitions to the India team (around 10:00 PM ET).
