Role Profile: Cyber Security Analyst (Risk & Compliance)Credit Union

Salary: €35,000–€45,000 (2–3 years' experience) or €45,000–€55,000 (5+ years), DOE · Contract: Permanent · Location: Kildare (hybrid) · Reporting to: ICT Manager

About the role

Our client, a community-focused credit union in Co. Kildare, is investing in its information security and digital resilience and is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to lead that work day to day. You'll join a small, close-knit team with real ownership — protecting member data and core systems, managing risk, and keeping the credit union aligned with its regulatory obligations. It suits someone who wants breadth and visibility rather than a narrow seat in a large security team.

What you'll do

Monitor, triage and respond to security threats across the credit union's systems.

Run vulnerability and risk management — identify, track and close down risks to member data and core banking systems.

Own day-to-day security compliance against the credit union's regulatory framework (DORA, Central Bank IT and cyber-risk expectations, GDPR), using ISO 27001 as a good-practice benchmark.

Manage third-party and outsourcing risk across key technology providers.

Build a security-first culture with practical guidance and training for colleagues.

What you'll bring

Essential

3+ years in a cyber or information security role.

Hands-on with endpoint protection, EDR and everyday security tooling.

A working understanding of security controls, risk management and network security.

A clear communicator who can translate security for a non-technical team.

Desirable

Experience in financial services or another regulated environment.

Familiarity with DORA, GDPR or Central Bank IT/cyber-risk requirements.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, SC-200 or CEH.

A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field — or equivalent experience.

What's on offer

A small, friendly team where your work is visible and valued.

Genuine ownership of the security function rather than a narrow remit.

Hybrid working. [Add: pension, benefits, study support.]
