Senior Firewall Engineer

Role Description The Senior Firewall Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, OH, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure firewall architectures across client and internal environments. This role involves configuring and managing firewall policies, monitoring network traffic, and proactively identifying and mitigating security threats. The Senior Firewall Engineer will perform regular security audits, troubleshoot connectivity and security issues, and ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards. Daily work includes collaborating with network, security, and operations teams, documenting configurations and procedures, and providing guidance to junior engineers on best practices in firewall and network security. The role may also involve participating in incident response, evaluating new security tools, and contributing to the continuous improvement of security posture.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point) and firewall policy design, configuration, and management.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, switching, NAT, and segmentation.
• Proven background in security operations, including threat analysis, incident response, log monitoring, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Ability to create clear documentation for firewall configurations, network diagrams, and security procedures, and to mentor team members on security best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, NSE, or CISSP are highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on-site in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high security standards and continuous learning.
