We are partnering with an innovative Berlin-based defense technology company developing next-generation systems designed to protect against emerging aerial threats. Combining advanced software, AI, sensing technologies, and hardware, the team is building mission-critical solutions that must operate reliably in demanding real-world environments.

They are looking for a Senior Infrastructure & Network Security Engineer to take ownership of the infrastructure, security architecture, and deployment pipelines that support both internal development and field-deployed systems.

The Opportunity

This is a highly hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys operating at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, network security, and DevOps. You will be responsible for designing secure environments, implementing robust deployment pipelines, and ensuring operational reliability across cloud, on-premises, and field systems.

Working closely with robotics, embedded, and interoperability teams, you'll help build secure and auditable software delivery processes while maintaining the highest standards of security and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Network Security

• Design and maintain secure infrastructure across internal, cloud, and field environments.
• Own network security architecture, including VPNs, firewalling, network segmentation, secure remote access, and zero-trust principles.
• Manage secure connectivity solutions such as Tailscale and similar technologies.
• Support and secure Azure-based infrastructure and virtual machines.

Secure Deployment & Update Pipelines

• Build secure software deployment and update pipelines for field-deployed systems.
• Implement signed release processes, version control, rollback mechanisms, and deployment validation.
• Ensure software updates remain secure, traceable, auditable, and resilient, even in restricted or intermittently connected environments.

DevOps & Automation

• Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps.
• Automate build, test, release, and deployment processes.
• Support software delivery pipelines across robotics and system software teams.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code and configuration management best practices.

Security Engineering

• Harden Linux systems, servers, developer workstations, and field-deployed platforms.
• Implement encryption, secrets management, key management, vulnerability scanning, and dependency security controls.

Monitoring & Observability

• Establish comprehensive logging, monitoring, alerting, and audit trails.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• Senior expertise in Infrastructure Engineering and Network Security
• Strong expertise in network security, VPNs, firewalling, segmentation, and secure access control.
• Deep experience managing and securing Linux environments.
• Experience building secure software deployment or update pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Azure infrastructure.
• Knowledge of encryption, key management, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
• Strong understanding of observability, logging, and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a highly autonomous, security-sensitive environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience within defense, aerospace, industrial automation, critical infrastructure, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Background supporting field-deployed or operational technology environments.
• Knowledge of secure boot, signed updates, embedded security, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SBOMs, or supply chain security.
• Experience working with robotics, command-and-control, or interoperability systems.
• Familiarity with air-gapped or intermittently connected environments.
