Duties:
The Security Enterprise Architect will perform the following duties:
- Align the enterprise architecture strategy with the enterprise security architecture vision, principles, standards, and frameworks for Iarnród Éireann.
- Analyse the business requirements, processes, and goals of Iarnród Éireann and translate them into IT security solutions that are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Design and oversee the implementation of IT security solutions that support the core business functions of Iarnród Éireann.
- Collaborate with senior management, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of the IT security architecture with the business strategy and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance, quality, and compliance of the IT security architecture and solutions, and identify and resolve any issues or risks.
- Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and trends and recommend and implement appropriate innovations and improvements to the IT security architecture and solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation and reports on the IT security architecture and solutions and communicate them effectively to various audiences.
- Work closely with the Cyber team
Role Responsibilities:
The Security Enterprise Architect will be accountable for the following outcomes:
- The delivery of enterprise-wide IT security solutions that meet the business needs and expectations of Iarnród Éireann, and that are aligned with the enterprise security architecture vision, principles, standards, and frameworks.
- The enhancement of the IT security architecture and solutions to support the growth, innovation, and transformation of Iarnród Éireann, while ensuring security, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- The establishment and maintenance of strong and productive relationships with senior management, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners, and the facilitation of effective communication and coordination on IT security architecture matters.
- The compliance of the IT security architecture and solutions with the relevant industry standards and regulations, and the mitigation and resolution of any issues or risks.
- The demonstration of thought leadership and expertise on IT security architecture best practices and methodologies, and the contribution to the continuous improvement and innovation of the IT security architecture and solutions.
Role Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security architecture, solution design and development, and project management, preferably in the transportation industry or a similar domain.
- A certification or accreditation in enterprise security architecture, such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, GICSP, or similar.
- A proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide IT security solutions that meet the business needs and expectations of Iarnród Éireann, and that are aligned with the enterprise security architecture vision, principles, standards, and frameworks.
- A demonstrated experience of leading and mentoring a team of security architects, solution architects, and technical specialists, and of providing guidance and direction on IT security architecture best practices and methodologies.
- A proficient knowledge and skills in the latest security technologies and trends.
Role Knowledge/Qualifications:
- A solid knowledge of the IT security architecture and solutions of the railway industry or a similar domain, and of the current and future trends and challenges in the IT security landscape.
- A working knowledge of the business strategy and objectives of Iarnród Éireann, and of the relevant industry standards and regulations.
- A familiarity with the project management methodologies and tools, such as agile, waterfall, scrum, etc.
- A proficiency in the use of various IT security tools and platforms, such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, AWS, Azure, etc.
