About the Job

We are looking for a Cyber Security Architect to contribute to the design and governance of secure technology architectures that support the Bank's strategic objectives and strengthen cyber resilience. The role involves translating business, technology, and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient architecture solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards. This opportunity is ideal for a cybersecurity professional seeking to further develop their architecture expertise within a dynamic and highly regulated financial services environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and review secure architectures for business and technology initiatives across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments, either independently or in collaboration with senior architects, according to the complexity of the initiative.
  • Perform threat modelling, attack surface analysis and security risk assessments using methodologies such as STRIDE and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Contribute to the definition of security architecture standards, design patterns and reference architectures that support consistent security implementation across the organisation.
  • Provide security architecture guidance for cloud platforms, applications, infrastructure, APIs and Identity & Access Management solutions.
  • Support Secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices by embedding security requirements early in the solution design and development lifecycle.
  • Participate in architecture and governance reviews, ensuring alignment with security policies, enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Cloud and Delivery teams to integrate security controls into strategic initiatives and transformation programmes.
  • Produce and maintain architecture documentation, security baselines, control frameworks and technical standards.
  • Support audits, security assessments, penetration testing activities and remediation initiatives through architecture expertise and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to the security architecture of data, analytics and AI platforms, including the controls required to address emerging AI-related threats.


Qualifications:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MSc in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Cyber Security Architecture, Security Engineering, Cloud Security or a related technical security role.
  • Solid understanding of Security by Design, Zero Trust and defence-in-depth principles, with the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Experience designing or contributing to the design of secure cloud and hybrid architectures, preferably in Microsoft Azure.
  • Good understanding of cloud, network, application, identity, and infrastructure security.
  • Exposure to threat modelling and architecture risk assessments; formal experience with structured methodologies will be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and security frameworks (DORA, NIS2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, GDPR); the expected depth will be assessed relative to the candidate's level of experience.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Secure SDLC, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to explain security design decisions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, Azure Security Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect) are considered an asset; candidates currently working towards such certifications will also be considered.
  • Awareness of the security implications of AI and machine learning systems, will be considered an asset.
