Your new role:
As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in securing complex AWS cloud environments and driving security best practices across engineering teams. You will take ownership of the AWS security ecosystem, champion DevSecOps initiatives, and embed application security throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining cloud security controls, guardrails, and compliance frameworks across multi-account AWS environments.
- Managing and enhancing AWS security services including Identity Center, Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, Cognito, IAM, and SCPs.
- Conducting threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews across cloud and application environments.
- Integrating security tooling and controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Partnering with software engineering teams to implement secure coding practices and improve overall security posture.
- Supporting secure cloud connectivity, network security architecture, and AWS IoT integrations.
- Leading or supporting incident response and security investigations while continuously improving detection and response capabilities.
What you'll need to succeed:
As a seasoned technology professional, you’ll need to demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach. You’ll also need:
- Strong experience in Cloud Security, Application Security, or a related security engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services including Identity Center, Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, Cognito, IAM, SCPs, and Inspector.
- Solid understanding of application security principles, OWASP Top 10, secure code reviews, and SAST/DAST security tooling.
- Experience securing AWS multi-account environments using AWS Organizations and Identity Center.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security architecture including VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, and Route53.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or AWS SAM.
- Proven experience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.
- Programming and automation experience with Python, Golang, or Rust.
- AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, OSCP, or similar security certifications will be highly regarded.
