Key Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform)
- Build, manage, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (or GitHub Actions/Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deployment
- Manage source control practices (Git) including branching strategies, pull requests, and code review workflows
- Configure and maintain containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, or similar tools
- Implement and enforce security best practices — identity and access management (Azure AD/Entra ID), RBAC, network security, secrets management (Key Vault)
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Manage configuration and environment consistency across dev, test, staging, and production
- Monitor cloud costs and recommend optimisation strategies (rightsizing, reserved instances, unused resource cleanup)
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and pipeline issues, and drive root-cause resolution
- Coordinate with development and client teams to plan releases and manage rollbacks when needed
- Maintain clear technical documentation for infrastructure, pipelines, and processes
- Support platform upgrades, patching, and compliance requirements
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps/Cloud Engineer role, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
- Solid experience with Azure core services (VMs, VNets, Storage, App Services, AKS, Azure SQL, Load Balancers, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (or equivalent CI/CD tools)
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS)
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Understanding of networking, security, and identity concepts within Azure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to work directly and confidently with client stakeholders
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and adapt to changing requirements with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent practical experience preferred
- Microsoft Azure certification(s) — e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500 — is a strong plus
- Experience supporting international clients
- Familiarity with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for configuration management
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP) alongside Azure
- Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
