Summary:

As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires working with contemporary development frameworks and following agile methodologies to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software that meets unique business requirements. Collaboration with team members and adapting to evolving project needs are integral parts of the daily workflow, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
• Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
• Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective software solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing software components to improve performance and reliability.
• Document development processes and solutions to support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Assist junior team members by providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and understand network requirements for onboarding new applications

Evaluate secure vs. non-secure connection needs (HTTP vs. HTTPS, encrypted vs. plain text, etc.)

Review and validate port requirements against security policies before raising requests

Raise and track firewall change requests via ITSM tools

Coordinate with network teams to get ports opened or modified

Troubleshoot connectivity and FW issues

Support SAP BASIS tasks when required

Professional & Technical Skills:

• Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Cloud Network Operations.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and network management principles.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting network performance in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting to optimize network operations.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues to ensure system availability and security.

Infrastructure Know-How — strong understanding of servers, networking, storage, and data center operations (Must Have)

Network Requirement Analysis — ability to gather, understand, and validate connectivity needs for new applications (Must Have)

Security Policies — understanding of organizational security policies and how they govern network access (Must Have)

Secure & Non-Secure Connections — knowledge of SSL/TLS, HTTPS, encrypted protocols vs. plain text (Must Have)

Port Validation — ability to assess and validate port requirements before submission (Must Have)

Firewall Requests — experience raising FW change requests via ServiceNow

Server Administration — Windows and Linux (Must Have)

Knowledge of Standard ports used by different SAP / Non SAP products ( Must Have)

SAP BASIS support — system monitoring, user administration, transport management

Understanding of SAP-specific ports and RFC/HTTPS connections

Experience working in SAP landscapes.

Additional Information:

• The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Cloud Network Operations.
• This position is based at our PDC5A - SEZ location.
• A 15 years full time education is required.
