DevOps Software Engineer

SanDisk is seeking a DevOps-focused Software Engineer to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and manage Atlassian Jira Cloud platforms. The role involves building internal tools, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with development and operations teams to improve software delivery speed, reliability, and security.

Overview

Sandisk is looking for a DevOps-focused Software Engineer to join the team and help build and maintain systems that support development and deployment processes. This role involves working on CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and contributing to tools and systems that improve the speed, reliability, and security of software delivery. The engineer will also support and administer the Atlassian Jira Cloud platform and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support fast, safe, and automated deployments.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and cloud environment management.
• Build internal tools and manage Atlassian Jira Cloud application to improve engineering workflows.
• Support integrations and troubleshoot and resolve Jira Cloud administration issues while maintaining governance, security, and operational best practices.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and ops teams to ensure smooth delivery of software.
• Implement branching strategies and code review processes to enhance code quality and collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with strong development experience.
• Experience administering Atlassian Jira Cloud including workflows, permissions, automation, user management, and integrations.
• Exposure to CI/CD and version control tools including GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Git.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Strong experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
• Familiarity with system administration tasks including managing Linux and Windows servers, configuring network services, and ensuring system security and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Confluence Cloud and Atlassian Marketplace apps.
• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps tools, or related technologies.
