We’re hiring across two focus areas:
- Digital Experience & Innovation (2 vacancies) – designing modern, end-user facing applications that bring Curtin’s digital experiences to life for students, staff and the broader university community.
- Platform, Data & Integration (2 vacancies) – architecting the scalable, secure backbone that connects Curtin’s technology ecosystem, from data models to integration patterns across a hybrid environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
Across both focus areas you will:
- Partner with digital teams, stakeholders and delivery partners to design technology solutions that meet University needs and align with Curtin’s strategic direction.
- Develop and validate prototypes or proof of concept where needed, to test feasibility and de-risk complex solution designs.
- Provide design authority and guidance across the full product lifecycle, partnering with delivery and engineering teams, from concept and design through to implementation.
- Create, review and maintain high-quality solution design artefacts that support informed decision-making and delivery.
- Ensure solutions comply with Curtin’s standards and design principles across key architecture domains.
- Champion agile design and development practices, ensuring technical designs support iterative, incremental delivery.
- Design scalable, secure and resilient modern application architectures, ensuring data models support business intelligence and transactional requirements.
- Develop integration architectures that enable seamless, secure data flow across a hybrid technology ecosystem.
- Design intuitive, human-centred digital experiences and applications across web and mobile platforms.
- Partner with product and design teams to translate user research and business needs into effective solution designs.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect within a large, complex technology environment.
- A strong track record of guiding solutions from concept and design through to successful delivery.
- Broad experience across mainstream technologies, architecture domains and design patterns, with expertise in at least one of the following relevant to your area of interest:
- Digital Experience & Innovation: application architecture, digital product design or modern front-end experience platforms.
- Platform, Data & Integration: integration architecture, data architecture, API design, or hybrid/cloud platforms.
- A collaborative, outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to balance innovation, business needs and practical delivery considerations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and translate complex information for diverse audiences.
- Experience working within agile delivery environments and contributing to iterative, team-based product delivery.
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF.
- Experience working in a higher education or large complex environment and an awareness of the uses of ICT within universities.
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
