What you will do
· Operate, maintain and continuously improve the Nucleus Azure platform across production and non-production environments.
· Support Azure services including Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake Storage, Function Apps, Key Vault, Application Insights, API Management and associated networking and security controls.
· Design, build and support secure data pipelines, integrations and APIs.
· Investigate and resolve platform incidents, performance issues and service requests, coordinating with internal technology teams and suppliers where required.
· Support releases and environment changes through automated deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, appropriate testing and change controls.
· Support AI-enabled services integrated with Nucleus, including managed model services, document-processing capabilities and model access through API Management.
· Implement and maintain monitoring for operational health, API and AI service usage, consumption and cost.
· Contribute to technical risk assessment, security controls, service and model configuration, secrets and key management, dependency management and governance documentation.
· Maintain solution and service documentation, operational procedures, support guides, architecture records and handover material.
· Work with product, architecture, engineering and business stakeholders to shape requirements and provide practical technical guidance.
· Participate in the team’s operational support model and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
Skills and professional experience
Essential
· Strong hands-on Azure platform engineering experience in a production environment.
· Practical experience with Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, storage, data pipelines and Azure PaaS services.
· Experience designing, publishing or supporting APIs through Azure API Management.
· Strong SQL skills and a sound understanding of data engineering and database principles.
· Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automation and controlled deployment processes.
· Experience supporting operational services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution and service improvement.
· Practical understanding of identity, access control, secrets management, networking and security within Azure.
· Ability to produce clear technical, operational and support documentation.
· Strong ownership and communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering, architecture, product and business stakeholders.
