About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable System Administrator to manage, secure, and evolve our infrastructure. This role goes beyond routine administration—you'll contribute to automation, resilience, and modern infrastructure practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Linux/Windows servers and enterprise systems
- Design and optimize infrastructure for scalability and reliability
- Automate operational tasks and system provisioning
- Monitor systems proactively and respond to incidents
- Implement security controls, compliance measures, and auditing
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and engineering teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation and containerisation (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes basics)
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
- Experience with monitoring and logging systems
Advanced / Rare Skills (Highly Valued)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)
- Knowledge of immutable infrastructure and GitOps workflows
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster administration (not just usage)
- Familiarity with low-level system internals (kernel tuning, cgroups, namespaces)
- Experience with distributed systems troubleshooting (latency, replication, consensus issues)
- Knowledge of zero-trust security architecture and identity-based access models
- Experience with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, tracing systems)
- Familiarity with high-performance networking or load balancing at scale
- Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Familiarity with edge computing or hybrid cloud setups
- Knowledge of database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL)
- Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, AWS, CKA/CKAD
