About the Client Our client is a global leader in e-commerce and technology, recognized for delivering innovative technology solutions, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making at scale. Their BIM & Digital (BIM&D) function develops digital construction and engineering solutions that enable GES stakeholders to improve quality, compliance, sustainability, risk management, scheduling, and virtual design review. They are seeking a hands-on, technically strong Software Developer to build, integrate, and enhance software products across Amazon PreConnector, AWS, Autodesk platforms, and AI-enabled engineering workflows. Job Title Software Developer Job Summary Our client is seeking a hands-on Software Developer to join the BIM&D technology team and contribute to the development and enhancement of innovative software products. The core focus of this role is full-stack software development, API integration, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted engineering. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs within a microservices architecture. They will work extensively with Amazon PreConnector, integrating AWS and Autodesk Platform Services, developing MCP-based integrations, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Amazon Q Developer to accelerate delivery and improve engineering productivity. The role requires strong experience with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java Spring Framework, AWS, RESTful APIs, microservices, and Git-based development workflows. Experience with Python, SQL, dbt, or AI/ML integration patterns is also valuable. BIM and digital construction knowledge is beneficial but not a prerequisite, as the team will provide the necessary domain context and training. The ideal candidate is a proactive software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with emerging technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Software Development & Architecture - Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using a microservices architecture. - Build high-performance, reliable features for Amazon PreConnector and related BIM&D software products. - Contribute to software architecture decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure. - Troubleshoot technical issues and conduct structured root-cause analysis. AI-Assisted Development - Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Amazon Q Developer to accelerate feature development. - Use AI-assisted tooling to automate repetitive engineering tasks and improve development productivity. - Explore and apply emerging AI development practices to improve code quality and delivery efficiency. MCP & AI Agent Integration - Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations within Amazon PreConnector. - Enable AI agents to interact with AWS data services and internal business intelligence systems. - Support the development and integration of MCP-based solutions for external APIs and enterprise data systems. - Contribute to agentic AI workflows and AI/ML integration patterns where applicable. AWS & Amazon Platform Integration - Develop and maintain integrations with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and Amazon Redshift. - Work with AWS data lakes and Amazon internal data and reporting platforms. - Enable secure data exchange and data democratization across GES stakeholders. - Support real-time reporting and analytics capabilities across BIM&D products. API Design & Development - Architect, build, test, and document secure RESTful APIs. - Integrate Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Platform Services, AWS services, and Amazon internal platforms. - Follow OpenAPI standards and applicable Amazon security and engineering policies. - Ensure APIs are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable. User Interface & Experience - Develop intuitive and accessible front-end interfaces for BIM and digital construction applications using React.js. - Apply user-centred design principles to create effective user experiences. - Maintain consistency with established Amazon design systems and engineering standards. Performance & Reliability - Identify performance bottlenecks across applications, APIs, and data pipelines. - Implement solutions to improve throughput, reduce latency, and enhance system reliability. - Monitor and continuously improve application performance at scale. Testing & Quality Assurance - Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests. - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. - Ensure software meets required reliability, security, quality, and compliance standards. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices. Documentation & Knowledge Management - Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering software, APIs, architecture, and integration patterns. - Document development standards and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing across the BIM&D team. - Contribute to effective technical knowledge transfer across engineering and business stakeholders.
