AI Strategy Director

Compensation: 200,000–275,000 base bonus and benefits
Location: Atlanta, Georgia – Hybrid
Reports to: Senior Executive Leadership

An established organization is expanding its investment in artificial intelligence and is seeking an exceptional AI Strategy Director to help define and shape its AI strategy.

This is an opportunity for a strategic leader who understands the rapidly evolving AI landscape and can translate emerging developments into clear business priorities, commercial opportunities, and actionable strategies.

Working closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the organization, the AI Strategy Director will assess the potential impact of AI on the business, identify opportunities for growth and innovation, and lead strategic initiatives from concept through execution.

The successful candidate will combine strong strategic thinking with commercial judgment and a genuine interest in AI. They will be comfortable operating at the executive level, challenging conventional thinking, and turning complex information into clear recommendations and measurable outcomes.

The AI Strategy Director will:

• Lead the development and evolution of the organization's AI strategy, aligned with broader business objectives.
• Monitor emerging AI technologies, developments, and trends to maintain a clear view of opportunities, risks, and potential business impact.
• Assess how AI is likely to evolve and its implications for customers, products, operations, markets, and business models.
• Lead high-profile, cross-functional strategic initiatives, translating strategic concepts into practical execution plans and measurable outcomes.
• Conduct market assessments and identify emerging trends, customer needs, competitive developments, and opportunities for growth.
• Develop clear, compelling recommendations and executive-level materials to support senior leadership decision-making.
• Partner with leaders across technology, product, commercial, finance, operations, and other functions to drive alignment and execution.
• Evaluate opportunities involving AI-enabled products, partnerships, investments, and new business models.
• Identify where AI can create meaningful commercial value, competitive advantage, and operational improvement.
• Help establish strategic priorities and investment decisions as the organization's AI capabilities continue to develop.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 6–10 years of experience in management consulting, or another strategy-focused role.
• A strong interest in artificial intelligence and a genuine passion for understanding emerging technologies.
• A proven track record of leading complex strategic initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to turn complex information into clear strategic recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, executive presentation, and storytelling skills, including experience working with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams.
• The ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across a complex, matrixed organization.
• Strong commercial judgment and an ability to identify and assess new growth opportunities.
• A proactive, ownership-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and market conditions can evolve quickly.
• Experience coaching or developing junior team members is preferred.

• Experience in technology, financial services, software, digital platforms, commerce, or another technology-driven environment.
• Exposure to AI strategy, digital transformation, innovation, emerging technology, or technology-enabled business change.
• Experience evaluating new products, partnerships, markets, or business models.
• Strong understanding of the commercial implications of AI and emerging technology.
• Experience preparing strategic recommendations for senior executives, Boards, or investment committees.
• Advanced degree or relevant strategy, technology, or leadership qualifications preferred.
