Key Responsibilities
1. Windows Server Infrastructure Management
- Lead administration and support of Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Ensure high availability and performance tuning of Windows environments
2. VMware Virtualization Administration
- Manage and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter
- Perform cluster management, HA, DRS, and storage optimization
- Lead VM provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management
- Troubleshoot performance issues at hypervisor, VM, and storage levels
3. Patch Management & Compliance
- Own enterprise patching lifecycle for Windows OS and VMware stack
- Ensure monthly patch cycles, emergency patching, and rollback plans
4. Vulnerability Management & Security Hardening
5. Upgrades & Lifecycle Management
- OS upgrades (in-place / migration-based)
- VMware upgrades (ESXi, vCenter, tools, hardware versions)
6. Migration & Transformation Projects
- Lead infrastructure migrations such as:
- Physical to Virtual (P2V)
- Virtual to Virtual (V2V)
- On-prem to Cloud (Azure/AWS/Hybrid)
7. Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and errors
8. Monitoring, Performance & Incident Management
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, MTTR targets, and uptime goals
- Participate in on-call and escalations as L3 support
9. Documentation & Governance
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure compliance with:
- ITIL processes
- Audit and regulatory requirements
Expectation from Stakeholders
- Share relevant profiles with hands-on L3 experience in the above technologies
- Candidates should be comfortable with client-facing roles and onsite engagement
- Preference for immediate joiners or short notice period
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to HCL policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year (some positions are eligible for unlimited PTO); and 10 paid holidays per year.
