Platform Engineer - Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to support a major cloud and infrastructure transformation programme.

Contract details:

• 12-month contract

• Full-time assignment

• Remote within Germany

• German and English speaking

• Freelance / B2B contract

• Start date: ASAP

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain secure, scalable cloud platform environments

• Develop reusable infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code

• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines

• Support Kubernetes-based platforms and containerised applications

• Improve platform automation, reliability and developer self-service

• Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions

• Work closely with DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, security and application teams

• Troubleshoot platform issues and perform root cause analysis

• Support cloud migration and platform modernisation initiatives

• Maintain technical documentation and platform standards

Required experience:

• Strong experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer

• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS

• Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code knowledge

• Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps

• Good knowledge of Linux, networking and cloud security

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or Dynatrace

• Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell

• Professional German and English language skills

• Based in Germany and able to work on a freelance contract
