Job Title: System Engineer

Location: Dublin - Onsite

Hourly Rate: €33

Role Overview:

As a System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our systems run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure to support our retail operations. Your expertise will help us enhance system performance, reliability, and security, ultimately contributing to an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and support scalable cloud-based systems and services on AWS.
• Automate operational processes and infrastructure deployments using scripting and DevOps tooling.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers, network engineers and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability and performance.
• Monitor system health, performance and operational metrics, implementing improvements where required.
• Support system upgrades, migrations and network lifecycle changes.
• Contribute to capacity planning, scaling strategies and operational excellence initiatives.
• Participate in on-call support and incident management activities.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing and load balancing.
• Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
