We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our small, collaborative engineering team and play a key role at the heart of our R&D efforts.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on real-time, high-volume transaction systems, big data, cloud-native technologies, and AI-driven engineering. You will be involved throughout the full development lifecycle — from requirements and architectural design through to implementation, deployment, testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

🛠️ What You'll Be Doing

🤝 Team & Collaboration

• Work as part of an Agile engineering team to design and implement infrastructure supporting our wider engineering goals.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, providing technical leadership from definition through to delivery.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with commercial and technical objectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our people, processes, architecture, and software.
• Share knowledge and develop team capabilities to reduce key-person dependencies.

⚙️ Engineering & Development

• Automate infrastructure creation, deployment, and updates wherever possible, ensuring solutions are repeatable, testable, and maintainable.
• Design and implement robust, production-ready infrastructure with operational support and maintainability in mind.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code, Test-Driven Development, and Continuous Integration principles.
• Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure across multiple global locations. ☁️
• Maintain systems on current LTS versions and ensure security and minor updates are applied promptly.
• Build and maintain secure infrastructure with appropriate monitoring, testing, and intrusion detection capabilities. 🔐
• Support the deployment and operation of containerised applications in AWS.
• Monitor distributed and microservices-based systems, including logging, tracing, alerting, and observability. 📊

🎯 What We're Looking For

✅ Essential Experience

• 🎓 University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 🐧 Strong Unix/Linux system administration experience and familiarity with common command-line tools.
• 🐳 Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying containerised applications to AWS.
• 🗄️ Experience administering an RDBMS or strong practical experience working with at least one relational database technology.
• ☕🐍 At least 1 year of Java or Python experience, with exposure to the full web application stack.
• ☁️ Experience deploying, monitoring, and supporting systems in AWS.
• 🔎 Experience with logging, log aggregation, distributed tracing, monitoring, and alerting within a microservices architecture.
• 🔄 Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins or equivalent.
• 🏗️ Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• 🔀 Experience working within an Agile environment, preferably Scrum, or a strong willingness to adopt Agile principles.
• ⏱️ Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to deliver against deadlines.
• 🧩 A solution-focused mindset with strong problem-analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• 🤖 Enthusiasm for adopting AI-native engineering practices and new approaches to software development.

⭐ Desirable

• 🏅 AWS certification.
• 🧪 Experience testing Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure deployments.
• 🌐 DNS management experience.
• 🔧 Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef.
