Job Summary
As a Telco Cloud Performance & Optimization Engineer, your role involves ensuring the optimal performance, scalability, and efficiency of the Telco Cloud infrastructure supporting telecom applications and network functions. You will be responsible for monitoring cloud infrastructure performance, optimizing compute, storage, and network resources, analyzing KPIs, and supporting capacity planning to ensure high availability and service reliability across virtualized and cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance and health of Telco Cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms.
- Analyze infrastructure KPIs and identify performance bottlenecks affecting telecom applications and network functions.
- Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure performance issues and recommend optimization solutions.
- Optimize resource utilization across Virtual Machines (VMs), Containers, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor CPU, Memory, Storage, Network Throughput, Disk I/O, and virtualization performance.
- Perform capacity planning and forecast infrastructure growth based on service demand and traffic trends.
- Analyze resource utilization and recommend infrastructure expansion or optimization.
- Validate infrastructure performance following software upgrades, hardware changes, and platform enhancements.
- Collaborate with Cloud Operations, IT, Network Engineering, and Vendor teams to resolve performance-related issues.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly infrastructure performance reports.
- Develop dashboards and automate infrastructure monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with cloud infrastructure SLAs, performance KPIs, and availability targets.
- Document optimization activities, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Participate in major incident investigations and support post-incident performance analysis.
- Recommend proactive optimization initiatives to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in Telco Cloud, Cloud Infrastructure, NFV, or Telecom Virtualization.
- Good understanding of Telco Cloud architecture and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs).
- Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms supporting telecom workloads.
- Knowledge of Linux system administration and performance tuning.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure performance in production environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
