Pay Range: $46.07 - $68.64 per hour

Summary
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for collaborating on design principles, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable hybrid cloud environments. This role ensures that infrastructure, applications, and services operate efficiently across public and private cloud platforms while aligning with enterprise standards for performance, security, and cost optimization. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Rush architects on the design & Implementation of hybrid cloud services.
- Deploy cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Works closely with Rush’s DevOps engineer to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Participate in the design of cloud networking components, security groups, and access control policies aligned with organizational standards.
- Manage and optimize cloud resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents in collaboration with other teams.
- Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) repositories and documentation.
- Partnering with the cybersecurity team to implement cloud security best practices including encryption, identity management, and compliance with frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to perform vulnerability management and remediation.
- Work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support hybrid cloud deployments.
- Participate in project related tasks to conduct design reviews, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system reliability.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
- Work closely with peers on capturing and reporting on the expenses of cloud solutions being consumed.
- Use data to support right sizing initiatives of workloads in the hybrid environment and craft availability schedules for systems that do not need to be on 24x7.
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure with a minimum of 3 years of hands on experience administering hybrid cloud environments (ie VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong scripting skills for automation (ie Powershell,Python, Bash)
- Experience with IaC tools (ie. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (ie. Github, Azure Devops)
- Ability to analyze complex systems and provide clear, strategic recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical peers.
- Effectively collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions, Azure Administrator, and/or Google Cloud Engineer.
- Deep understanding of modern IT frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Healthcare Environment Experience.
