Infrastructure Engineer (Working Student)
EngineeringPart-timeBielefeld, Germany (in-office)
What You'll Do
You'll own the infrastructure that runs stagewise — from our internal services to customer-facing deployments. If you enjoy building custom Kubernetes setups from scratch, maintaining Helm charts, and deploying software across both hyperscaler clouds and on-prem environments, this is your role.
You'll
- Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters (the kind you'd actually want to run)
- Create, version, and maintain Helm charts for our services
- Deploy and operate software on hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem hardware
- Automate everything — if you do it twice, it becomes code
- Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Monitor, debug, and resolve infrastructure incidents
- Help shape our infrastructure architecture and tooling decisions
Who We're Looking For
- Loves building custom Kubernetes setups
- Knows how to build and maintain Helm charts
- Comfortable deploying on hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem
- Solid Linux and networking fundamentals
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar)
- Comfortable with at least one programming language (Go, Python, Bash, etc.)
- Daily user of containerization (Docker, containerd)
- Understands what makes infrastructure reliable and observable
- Excellent English skills
- Basic German skills
- Run your own homelab or Kubernetes cluster
- Contribute to open-source infrastructure tools
- Have experience with GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Have dealt with compliance or security-hardened environments
- Enjoy writing about infrastructure (blog posts, docs, talks)
- 20 hours/week during the semester
- 40 hours/week during semester breaks
- High ownership and autonomy from day one
- Direct collaboration with the founders
- Opportunity for long-term employment
- Office directly at Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof
- MacBook, high-quality monitor, air-conditioned office
- Unlimited coffee and flexible working hours
Send us your application at [email protected] – and please be creative!
We value outstanding and creative applications far more than polished CVs that look oddly tailored to the role. Don't worry about having the "perfect" resume — we care about who you are, not how well you can format a document.
Tell us your story, the craziest infrastructure setup you've built (and what broke), why you're the perfect fit, and what makes you unique. We want our team to consist of extraordinary people, and your application should reflect that.
Afterward, we'll kick things off with a short 15-minute video call, followed by a 30-minute meeting at our office. After a trial day where you can meet the team and learn more about the product, we'll get started if both sides feel it's a great fit.
