Position Overview

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to help build and evolve a firm's Identity and Configuration Platform. This team is responsible for enabling secure, scalable, and seamless access to applications and infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments.

The role combines software engineering, platform architecture, and operational ownership. You'll develop services, APIs, automation tools, and reusable platform capabilities that simplify identity, authentication, authorization, configuration management, and operational processes across the organization.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on delivering secure-by-default solutions and establishing consistent patterns that can be leveraged by teams throughout the business.

Areas of responsibility may include:

  • Enterprise identity and access management
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions
  • Secrets management
  • Certificate and DNS services
  • Kubernetes-based infrastructure
  • Cloud-native platform services
  • Automation and reliability engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, libraries, and platform tooling.
  • Develop reusable platform capabilities that reduce duplication and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Improve the user experience for technical teams through automation and self-service solutions.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate platform services into applications and workflows.
  • Support and operate business-critical platform services, including participation in an on-call rotation.
  • Automate operational processes to enhance reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Contribute to platform architecture and identity strategy initiatives.
  • Share technical expertise and mentor other engineers.
  • Participate in a highly collaborative engineering environment, including extensive pair programming.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, plus relevant professional experience. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Strong backend development skills using one or more of the following:
  • Go
  • Python
  • TypeScript
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems and scripting tools such as Bash or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred).
  • Experience designing and building APIs, services, or shared platform components.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including maintainability, testing, and modular design.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and token-based authentication.
  • Experience working with identity providers such as Okta, Entra ID (Azure AD), or similar solutions.
  • Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar platforms.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Opportunity to shape enterprise-wide platform and identity services.
  • Work on modern cloud-native technologies and large-scale infrastructure.
  • Collaborative engineering culture with a strong focus on learning and technical excellence.
  • Significant influence over architecture, automation, and platform strategy.
  • Hybrid working environment with strong emphasis on teamwork and innovation.
