The DevOps Engineer 2 supports the Platform Engineering team in implementing, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and deployment solutions that enable reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
This role focuses on AWS cloud services, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD automation, GitOps practices, and observability while working closely with software engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
We are looking for an engineer with 2–3 years of DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience who is comfortable working with AWS, automation, scripting, and modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, collaborative, and able to solve day-to-day operational and deployment challenges with moderate guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, deploying, and automating cloud infrastructure and application delivery pipelines.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related automation tools.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and AWS SAM.
- Support GitOps-based deployment workflows and configuration management.
- Monitor application and platform health using observability tools such as Dynatrace and AWS monitoring services.
- Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and application issues.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Support platform administration, optimization, and operational improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with software engineers and senior DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
Typical Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain GitHub Actions workflows.
- Provision and manage AWS resources under guidance.
- Develop automation scripts for routine operational tasks.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Assist in deploying serverless applications using AWS SAM.
- Monitor platform health through Dynatrace and AWS CloudWatch.
- Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline failures and infrastructure incidents.
- Perform routine platform administration, patching, and access management.
- Support small platform enhancements and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS services.
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).
- Understanding of GitOps principles and Git-based deployment workflows.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and API integrations.
- Familiarity with observability concepts and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-powered engineering tools such as:
- Cursor
- GitHub Copilot
- Claude Code
- Exposure to Docker and containerization technologies.
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes (nice to have, not required).
- Experience with Bash or PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
